10:00 – 10:45
Back by popular demand. When it comes to providing energy security affordably, oil—and especially gas—is back on the energy menu in the North Sea. How can we make the most of this transition fuel in a responsible way? Lies the key in producing it locally with clean-tech solutions to minimize its footprint?
Confirmed participants:
· Lex de Groot, Managing Director Eni Energy Netherlands
Moderator
· Paul de Leeuw, Director Energy Transition Institute, Robert Gordon University
11:15-11:45
The Stage
Investing in nature regeneration when building offshore is wise because it enhances ecosystem resilience, protects infrastructure from erosion and storm damage, and helps maintain biodiversity. It also supports long-term sustainability goals and can improve regulatory compliance and community support.
13:00-13:45
The Stage
When it comes to offshore wind investments, long-term policy frameworks are essential to provide confidence, drive innovation, and accelerate the energy transition. In a rapidly changing world, creating reliable incentives and fostering strong public-private collaboration are key to unlocking investment potential and building a future-ready energy system.
Confirmed participants:
· Maurits den Broeder Managing Director Offshore Energy, Van Oord
· Michiel van Rij, Country Lead Offshore Development the Netherlands RWE
· Thomas Hwan Jensen, Principal – Regional Lead Europe Aegir Insights
Moderator:
· Paul de Leeuw, Director Energy Transition Institute, Robert Gordon University
15:15-16:00
The Stage
As the world accelerates toward a low-carbon future, financing the renewable transition has become both an opportunity and a challenge. This panel will explore the tension between long-term sustainability goals and the short-term financial returns investors demand. How can innovative financing models drive the transition without compromising economic viability?

Tuesday 26 November Content Program Overview Conference
10:00 – 10:45
We are in an era of geopolitical change. Where it will lead us remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: there will be a greater focus on defense. From that perspective, more work needs to be done in the North Sea. The offshore energy sector, with its strong emphasis on safety, can contribute by also prioritizing security. Where do we stand, and how can the supply chain—with all its offshore experience—help in creating solutions?
Confirmed participants:
· Paul Flos, Program Director International Naval Materiel Cooperation at the Dutch Ministry of Defence
· Karen Vennik, Commercial Director Offshore Energy en Ocean Health bij Van Oord
· Paul Doherty, Chief of Commercial and Growth Venterra Group
Moderator:
· Paul de Leeuw, Director Energy Transition Institute, Robert Gordon University
13:00-13:45
The Stage
Carbon Capture and Storage is crucial to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, refining and chemicals. The North Sea offers great potential to store large volumes of CO2 in depleted gas fields. With the offshore knowledge and technical expertise already established, combined with a robust supply chain and some parts of infrastructure fit for re-use, all elements are in place for a new business model for the offshore sector in the Netherlands. Everything seems to be in place, but who picks up the tab?
