With nearly 30 years of experience in the offshore wind industry, Erwin Coolen is a senior advisor, board member, and social entrepreneur who initiates and implements innovative solutions for a sustainable green and blue economy. As founder of OutSmart and former vice-president of Vestas, Erwin now leads ECHT, a transition bureau that collaborates with partners from the government, education, and business sectors to design and execute solutions accelerating the energy transition and the transition to a sustainable and resilient planet. Ever since the Moonshot project in 2020, ECHT has been working with stakeholders from the industry to contribute to policies, research initiatives and tenders & projects to enhance and implement circular strategies within the sector, ultimately aimed at achieving 100% traceability, transparency and circularity throughout the life cycle of (wind) energy projects.
