Caroline Schuring – Van Woudenberg has been working at Rijkswaterstaat for 30 years and currently serves as Project Manager for the Fleet Renewal Program. Together with her project team and colleagues, she oversees the construction of new vessels that will support various government services. In recent years Caroline has gained experience with building the MPV-30 vessels and trailerable measuring vessels. One of her key projects at the moment is Power2Tow, which involves developing three innovative and sustainable Emergency Response Towing Vessels. They operate 90% electrically and require offshore and onshore charging infrastructure. This groundbreaking project marks a major step forward in sustainable maritime operations.
“Our current fleet has exceeded its lifespan—renewal is urgent. The Fleet Renewal Program goes beyond replacement: we’re building a modern, more sustainable and innovative fleet that aligns with climate goals and operational demands. Rijkswaterstaat is in a tender of three Emergency Response Towing Vessels that operate 90% electrically and require offshore and onshore charging infrastructure.”
