The OEEC Award Dinner, celebrating innovation and excellence, is taking place on the evening before OEEC at the iconic Tobacco Theater in the heart of Amsterdam. This unique venue provides the perfect setting for an inspiring evening bringing together leading industry professionals, business leaders and policymakers. The evening will be hosted by Donatello Piras, who will guide guests through the program. A key highlight of this year’s dinner is the introduction of the Offshore Energy Oysters: a new form of industry recognition celebrating an outstanding individual and a company or organisation making a meaningful contribution to the offshore energy sector.
These are no ordinary oysters. They are fossilised oysters, millions of years old, from environments that were transformed over time into oil and gas reservoirs. Today, the oyster also represents a vision for the future of our industry. It symbolises the idea that we should not only take from nature, but also give something back — think of nature enhancement and sustainability. The jury consists of Annemiek Asschert (TNO), Maarten van Gaans-Gijbels (Element NL) and Maurits den Broeder (Van Oord).
The evening’s keynote speaker is Jan Anthonie Bruijn, former politician, former President of the Senate of the Dutch Parliament and former government minister. Combining an impressive academic career with an in-depth understanding of politics, he offers a unique perspective on the worlds of science, politics and society. Known for his engaging presentations, intellectual depth and sense of humour, Bruijn takes audiences behind the scenes of politics and science.
