The UK and the Netherlands
Building the energy on the North Sea together

Looking for new project opportunities? Supply chain partners? Innovation?  The UK and Dutch offshore wind and green hydrogen industries are meeting for two days filled with sharing knowledge, showcasing expertise and networking.

Join key players in the offshore wind sector and promote the capabilities of the UK supply chain in the Netherlands at this year’s Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC).

The UK is Europe’s leader in installed offshore wind capacity and same as the Netherlands, has set a big 2030 target for offshore wind. The Dutch and UK supply chains have been long working together to bring new capacity online and, this November, they are meeting at Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference.

Why UK companies must join

Highlight Innovations in offshore wind and marine hydrogen

The UK is a global leader in offshore wind and marine hydrogen technologies. Exhibiting at OEEC provides UK companies with a platform to showcase their cutting-edge innovations, including advanced turbine designs, efficient energy storage solutions, and sustainable marine hydrogen production methods.

Demonstrate expertise in sustainable offshore operations

UK companies have a strong track record in implementing sustainable practices in offshore energy operations. By participating in OEEC, they can demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship, showcasing their expertise in reducing carbon footprints, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting biodiversity in offshore environments.

Connect with industry leaders and expand market reach

OEEC attracts key stakeholders, decision-makers, and potential partners from around the world. UK companies have the opportunity to network with industry leaders, explore new business opportunities, and expand their market reach by forming strategic alliances and partnerships.

Reinforce leadership position and explore growth opportunities

Exhibiting at OEEC allows UK businesses to reinforce their position as leaders in the offshore energy sector. It provides a platform to share their success stories, innovative solutions, and sustainable practices, while also exploring new avenues for growth and development in the global offshore energy market

The UK and the Netherlands

  • Strategic importance
  • Green hydrogen and CCUS ambitions
  • Innovation Hub
  • Energy security and sustainabiity

The UK is Europe’s leader in offshore wind and holds the global second place in installed offshore wind capacity. Being at OEEC will reinforce your position in the global market.

The UK’s National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) this year announced an investment plan worth tens of billions of pounds to bolster the transmission infrastructure necessary to support the burgeoning offshore wind capacity. The plan includes connecting an additional 21 GW from Scottish waters, potentially bringing the UK’s total offshore wind capacity to 86 GW by 2035.

The UK government aims to have 5 GW of low carbon hydrogen production capacity by 2030 for use across the economy, with much of this capacity being powered by offshore wind. This year, an offshore hydrogen project kicked off and marked the first time hydrogen was produced from seawater in a marine environment in the UK.

According to the government, carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) will be essential to meeting the UK’s 2050 net zero target. In line with this, the government last year set out plans for a new competitive UK carbon capture, usage and storage market by 2035. As part of developing the new industry offshore, in 2021, The Crown Estate established the Offshore Wind and CCUS Co-location Forum to facilitate the coexistence between the two technologies at sea.

OEEC serves as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration between industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators in the offshore energy sector. Both the UK and the Netherlands face similar challenges in meeting growing energy demands while reducing CO₂ emissions. By working together, they can accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources, strengthening energy security and sustainability in the North Sea region and beyond.

The UK is also one of the world’s leaders in offshore technology innovation, driving advancements in offshore wind, floating wind, and green hydrogen. With a strong regulatory framework and progressive policies, the UK plays a key role in enabling the large-scale rollout of these projects. Similarly, the Netherlands has positioned itself as a hub for offshore energy development, making it an ideal partner for cross-border cooperation.

At OEEC, industry professionals from both countries—and around the world—have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore partnerships, and drive forward the next generation of offshore energy solutions. Join us to connect with like-minded innovators, investors, and policymakers, shaping the future of offshore energy together.

OEEC serves as a key platform for discussing the future of offshore energy, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators. A strong link exists between the OEEC and the shared energy challenges faced by the UK and the Netherlands, particularly in energy security and sustainability.

Both countries have significant offshore energy sectors and are striving to balance growing energy demand with the transition to renewable sources like offshore wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture. By collaborating through events like OEEC, they can exchange expertise, drive innovation, and develop joint strategies to enhance energy security while reducing CO₂ emissions. This partnership strengthens their ability to meet climate goals and accelerates the shift towards a more sustainable offshore energy landscape
