Senior Geotechnical Engineer at CRUX Engineering
Korneel de Jong graduated as a civil engineer in 2009 and has since been working at CRUX as a geotechnical consultant. He has broad experience in both design and execution, including urban deep excavation works, risk assessment, and monitoring supervision. With extensive geotechnical knowledge and proficiency in PLAXIS 2D/3D, he approaches complex challenges in a practical and risk-aware manner. His project experience includes the Dreefcomplex in Haarlem, the “poortvrije passages” under Amsterdam Central Station, and geotechnical advisory work for wind turbine foundations in the Noordoostpolder.
The Sand Battery is an innovative storage system, mounted in monopiles of the wind turbines, that uses local materials, local energy sources and local infrastructures.
