Biography

Ivan Bondarchuk is a partner at LCF Law Firm and the head of the “Energy and Projects” practice, as well as a member of the UWEA’s Board.

With a decade of professional experience in energy law, Ivan has successfully managed projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors, focusing on investments, transactions, and regulatory compliance. He has guided leading national and international investors in renewable energy projects and is involved in the commissioning of one of the three wind power plants commissioned during the full-scale war in 2022. Additionally, Ivan played a key role in developing the Law of Ukraine on the Electricity Market. Since February 2022, he has been working on compensation issues for damages incurred by renewable energy investors due to military actions and on ensuring the insurance of international investors. In 2023-24 Ivan Bondarchuk played a significant role in the development of the rulemaking initiatives to speed up wind energy development in Ukraine, incl. on reforming grid connection procedures and implementation of capacity booking and cable pooling instruments.
