Helena van der Leij is Project Manager Ecology at SeaQurrent, leading ecological monitoring and research for the TidalKite. She coordinates studies on underwater sound, hydrodynamics and destratification, collision risk, marine mammal and fish behaviour, and potential barrier effects. She focuses on data-driven research and projects, because collecting the right data across topics is crucial for business development, engaging new stakeholders, and communicating with existing ones. She led the Ameland test-site monitoring program, aligning scientists, authorities, and field teams to deliver usable findings. She loves to use her enthusiasm and energy to support nature-based solutions for the energy transition.
