Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) concludes with strong industry momentum, high-level insights and award-winning innovations
Amsterdam, Netherlands — 25 & 26 November — Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) closed its doors yesterday after two impactful days filled with expert insights, high-level government engagement, and the celebration of outstanding industry achievements. As one of Europe’s leading events for offshore energy, OEEC brought together for the 18th edition this year thousands of professionals, innovators, project leaders, and policymakers from across the global energy value chain.
This year’s programme highlighted the rapid developments shaping offshore wind, marine energy, hydrogen, and integrated energy systems, alongside critical conversations on security, financing, and cooperation.
Government Leadership: A Strong Dutch Presence
The event was marked by the prominent participation of Aukje de Vries, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aid of the Netherlands. Her involvement underscored the government’s deep commitment to supporting and accelerating offshore energy development, both domestically and internationally.
Minister De Vries contributed to several key moments across the program:
- Keynote introduction during the Securing the North Sea session, stressing the vital role of offshore wind in Dutch energy security and the necessity of strong public–private cooperation.
- Keynote introduction during the World Bank – Offshore Wind Financing in Emerging Markets session in the Europa Foyer, part of the Government of the Netherlands programme.
- Presentation of the Dutch Offshore Wind Guide at the NL Pavilion, showcasing the country’s unique offshore capabilities and forward-looking approach.
Her presence brought additional momentum to discussions on international collaboration and long-term energy resilience.
Conference Insights: Security, Financing, and Collaboration
Across the two-day programme, experts shared perspectives on the evolving offshore energy landscape:
- Energy Security & North Sea Resilience: Speakers explored the growing geopolitical pressures on offshore infrastructure, emphasizing the urgent need for robust supply chains, rapid repair capabilities, and shared responsibility between industry and government.
- Financing Emerging Offshore Markets: The World Bank session highlighted the massive potential of emerging markets, and the financial frameworks needed to unlock them.
- Collaboration Above All: Whether addressing grid capacity, supply chain challenges, or project permitting, collaboration emerged as the defining theme of this year’s OEEC.
Attendees reinforced the importance of OEEC as a central meeting place:
“I’m here every year, because this is the best place to be if we’re talking about offshore energy.” — Jan Vos, NedZero
“We have to do it in cooperation with market parties and everyone involved around here.” — Marielle Hetem, Dutch Ministry of Climate and Green Growth
“Alone we can do so little, and together we can do so much”- Lex de Groot, Eni
“In terms of leaving coal, gas and oil behind, we are well on track, I would say, but there is still a lot to do.”- Jon van Oostrom, DNV
OEEC Awards: Celebrating Excellence, Leadership and Future Talent
The OEEC Awards formed one of the highlights of this year’s event, celebrating both outstanding industry leadership and the promising next generation of offshore energy talent. The awards were presented across two moments during the week, reflecting the breadth of excellence within the sector.
