Amsterdam, October 2026 –The energy transition offshore requires collaboration across countries, industries and generations. Young Professionals have an important role to play in bringing these worlds together, connecting fresh perspectives with established expertise to shape the future of offshore energy.
As the next generation of industry leaders, Young Professionals bring new ideas, digital skills and an open mindset to collaboration across offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and integrated energy systems. In an increasingly interconnected energy landscape, their ability to look beyond traditional sector boundaries is essential to unlocking new opportunities and accelerating innovation.
At Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC), Young Professionals from across the offshore energy and maritime industries come together to exchange ideas, share knowledge and explore new ways of working. By connecting people at different stages of their careers and from different parts of the industry, OEEC creates opportunities to build relationships, challenge conventional thinking and develop a shared vision for the future.
The Young Professional Award recognises the next generation of offshore energy leaders. The winner will receive a Personal Leadership Program from Critical Minds, designed to help them shape their career, strengthen their leadership skills and increase their influence.
“In the technical sector, the emphasis in personal development is often on professional knowledge and substantive expertise. But at Critical Minds, we see that developing personal leadership of young employees offers a huge opportunity”, says Bas Schreuder, partner at Critical Minds. “That is why we developed the Young Professional Program. In this program, we help young professionals (up to 35 years old) to understand themselves better, communicate more effectively and make more impact in their role.”
Before the award ceremony Young Maritime & Offshore NL and Future Energy Leaders (FEL), will host a special session, exploring the concept of intrapreneurship and how the next generation of professionals can drive change from within their organisations. As the offshore and energy sectors continue to evolve, this interactive session will explore what intrapreneurship means in practice, share real-life stories of young professionals who have successfully driven innovation and improvement.
Join the conversation on 24 and 25 November 2026 at RAI Amsterdam, and help shape the next chapter of offshore energy!
