Annemiek Asschert graduated in 2007 from Utrecht University and received a MSc in Earth Sciences. She started her career as on- and offshore geotechnical engineer at Fugro. After which she moved to Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN). First as geoscientist in offshore hydrocarbon exploration, but then gradually transitioned towards the broader energy system and its building blocks, until recently as Manager New Energies & Innovation. Where she was responsible for EBN’s Hydrogen, Hydrogen Storage and Biogas exploration and development. In the complicated transition from a hydrocarbon-based system towards a renewable system she believes that more diversity results in more innovation and better performing teams, which will be of large importance in the energy transition.
